Post-Birthday Maestro Musings

"No wise man ever wished to be younger."
-Jonathan Swift

Big weekend at the Gunderson household.

Handsome husband turns 30; beloved pup celebrates his first birthday.

Which was the bigger milestone?

Perhaps the history books will one day reflect the answer.

"You are only young once, but you can be immature for a lifetime."
-John P. Grier

"Let us respect gray hairs - especially our own"

Thursday Guest Spotlight

Ava-Tar speaks:

"The Sky People have sent us a message... that they can take whatever they want. That no one can stop them. Well, we will send them a message. You ride out as fast as the wind can carry you. You tell the other clans to come. Tell them Toruk Makto calls to them! You fly now, with me! My brothers! Sisters! And we will show the Sky People... that they can not take whatever they want! And that this... this is our land!"

Evs. I don't really get it either. Beware the Ava-Tar.

Daydreams of Spring

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.

Venus de Maestro

Aphrodite of Maestro (Greek: Ἀφροδίτη τῆς Μήλου, Aphroditē tēs Mēlou), better known as the Venus de Maestro, is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Created some time between 130 and 100 BC, it is believed to depict Aphrodite of Maestro, the Greek god of love, beauty and puppy chow. It is a marble and fur sculpture, slightly larger than life size at 203 cm (6 ft 8 in) high. Its arms and original plinth have been lost. From an inscription that was on its plinth, it is thought to be the work of K. Gunderson of Minneapolis; it was earlier mistakenly attributed to the Master Sculptor/Ottist "C.Tussing". It is at present on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Magical Musical Maestro

In a salute to our affable neighbors to the north, local Minneapolis music producer Maestro "Pants" Gunderson is working on a collaborative project with Canadian talent master Maestro Fresh Wes, aka the "Godfather of Canadian Hip Hop."

Maestro and Maestro hope to release the remix of the '89 hit "Let Your Backbone Slide" early this summer, when their new album drops.

With any luck, Maestro's Backbone Slide promises to be the biggest thing since the Humpty Dance.
